The
Nomad MK3
The Nomad returned to racing
in 1998 after a three year restoration by Terry Davison and
Crispin Manners, Oaktree Garage, Newton Poppleford, near Exeter,
the Porsche specialists.
The
Ford V6 engine has been replaced with a Porsche 3.2 litre Carrera
flat six engine with flat fan air cooling. The engine has carburettors
and produces about the same power as the original BRM engine
to maintain the character of the early 70s and the car
has been kept as original as possible.
While
the Porsche engine is almost standard to provide good reliability
the saving in weight and increase in power over the Ford engine
have considerably improved the performance.
